Instead of using implicit differentiation, I think a more convincing approach is to show it geometrically.

Proof would be by the definition of integration, not by using techniques of integration.

But wouldn't the domain of lnx restrict it to positve only?

y = ln(x) so x = e^y. So dx/dy = e^y so dy/dx = 1/e^y = 1/x :)
