Why cant the govt have safaricom run the huduma centers with their technology and both govt and safcom can share a percentage of fees. Just like safricom partnered with vodacom and safricom became the most profitable company in east and central africa. Had Safcom not had a partner like vodacom it would probably be losing money run as a parastatal. This would make Huduma centers more efficient and sustainable across the country. Huduma centers would benefit from new technologies and creativity. The money Huduma centers make will be used to reinvest in Huduma centers as sopposed to the money going to treasury for general expenditure of all govt services. The govt need to enter into a PPP with safcom to run Huduma centers. There are probably some services where we would not need to go to huduma centers but be digitized. Just like we do not even go to banks, With safcom coming on board we will see greater effeciencies and more creativity with added products.
