FAQ: Liquid Latex

Another tip I figured out AFTER recording this - use a regular tweezers. Obvious in hindsight but the pointed ones make it just slightly harder to get a grip, and also tear through the latex more easily.

I have to say, latex is more satisfying to peel off than tape is!

You and simplynailogical should join forces because she is a pro with liquid latex and can't water marble and you're just learning latex and a water marble pro 😂

I've used the latex body paint from amazon when I ran out of regular latex. I figured that it helped me see the edge so it's easier to grab when I'm done. It's not a big deal or anything with regular clear latex or anything but it did help to find the edge a touch faster.

Great video - also have trouble when the coating is too thin... Thx for sharing!

I've learned to use a thicker coat and as you do, remove it while the polish is still wet. Comes off super easy. I used latex body paint.

I found the Elmers school glue works better than liquid latex. I, like you bought latex and ran into the same problems.

With Elmers, on the other hand (no pun intended) you can get a nice clean peel and you don't run into any problems once your polish has dried. Gradients are fantastic when using Elmers for this reason.Your tip about your prepped fingers sticking together still applies though.

The only cons I can report is drying time (but that can be solved with the fan) and the possible need for one thick coat or two thinner codes depending on how much time you have. I must confess that I haven't used it for water marbling yet but I'd like to think that worst-case scenario there would be waiting for everything to dry a final time.

I must say that I've been following you for a few months and I thoroughly enjoy and appreciate your your attention to detail when talking about a product. I'm VERY particular and want to know all the things and you've never let me down. :)

I use liquid latex when doing my nails.  I find doing 2 nails at a time with the latex so that when I peel it off its easier.  You can find liquid latex at Michaels or Hobby Lobby in the Paint section.

I purchased a small, 3oz bottle of liquid latex that's already got a brush. It's like a big nail polish bottle. It was $4 at my local Halloween store. Similar to party city, but more secialized. And all the people saying to use Simply Peel - that's all it is but with color or glitter added.

FYI, false lash glue works too. Probably because most lash glues have latex in them :) liquid latex is way more affordable obviously, but I tried lash glue because I was curious and it worked perfectly!

I use simply peel by bliss kiss...it works very well and always peels off in one big piece

I think if you did a thicker coat it will come off easier. I learned that if I use glue that when I do a thicker coat it comes off much easier than if I do ac thinner coat. I just thought I'd let you know that in case it would be helpful for you. Just try it and see if it works better for you.

Liquid latex is a game changer with gradients and water marbles.
I wonder if brushing a little baby powder over the latex once it's dry would keep your fingers from sticking together?

i just bought my liquid latex I wish I saw this first I bought mine on amazon it was pricy...now I know next time to go to party city and get it. I did try to use it once it is something that you have to get used to, like you said my fingers did stick together and I got frustrated and just took it off but practice makes perfect so I will try it again. :)

Thank you. Have you seen/noticed any type of skin irritations since using this product?

OMgoodness I love your nail color choice! I. Not that good at gradient yet!...but as far as the latex application it's better to apply a lil thicker. My opinion of course, 😊
