He recently revealed that he gained three stone in lockdown by eating too much banana bread. And Alan Carr has now said he wants to try a wonder drug for tackling obesity known as 'semaglutide' to help him shift the extra pounds. The Chatty Man presenter, 44, said he plans to try the drug that works by suppressing appetite and has been called a 'game-changer' by scientists.  Speaking on the latest episode of his podcast, Life's A Beach, with comedian Tom Allen, he admitted that he has tried 'so many' diets but is looking forward to trying the 'pill'. Alan said: 'I've been on so many diets, like that woman,' comparing himself to a diet-pill obsessed mother in the American psychological drama film, Requiem for a Dream. He added: 'I can't wait for that pill.' A recent study of the drug saw some people lose more than a fifth of their body weight during trials. The results were published in the New England Journal of Medicine and showed people lost an average of 15kg on semaglutide compared with 2.6kg without. In January, the comedian told The Mirror: 'I did put on a lot of lockdown weight. People will think, "What the hell has he eaten because he has ballooned!"'I have been eating any old s**t. I think I have put on about three stone. You see skinny people on Instagram and they only have a slice of banana bread but I was eating the whole lot.' Alan knew something was amiss when he put on his 36-inch waist jeans and couldn't fit them over his stomach. He vowed to rectify this, however, by making a pact with pal Judge Rinder.'I rang Rob up last year and said, "I am fat!" He said, "I am fat!" So we sent each other pictures and both agreed we were fat. We decided whoever had lost the least amount of weight by November 2nd would pay for dinner.' The star is currently presenting the new series of Interior Design Masters on BBC2, which airs on Tuesday at 8pm.
