Video 7 Mars Helicopter Testing in the Planetary Aeolian Laboratory

Hi everyone. Today we are shooting in the NASA Ames Research Center's Planetary Aeolian Laboratory, where we can vacuum pump most of the air out of the room in order to simulate the density of the Martian atmosphere. We use a wind tunnel to do helicopter rotor testing for the upcoming Mars helicopter, and for future Martian rotorcraft design. Some of my friends, interns and employees here at the NASA center, will talk a little bit about what they do in the lab.
