Fire the dude that is raising the red flags. Your products will be sent back by your clients.

It's still ironic that they picked and shifted all the blame on the one guy that made everything work because their egos were too massive to fit their britches. And again, the ones that win in the end is the little guy, while the big fish drown with their collective prides.

Worked on overnight cap 3 at walmart. The day shift managers used to blame me for when the zamboni floor scrubber got broken. So my supervisor of my maintenance team, who knew it wasn't me btw breaking this thing, had me keep off of it and only had three people he had authorized for it to be used during the overnight shift. Him, and two other older employees. Turned out it was one of the day shift managers who kept taking it outside to scrub the front sidewalk area and that was what caused it to keep breaking (cues johnny cab eye roll).

Thank some measure of goodness that YouTube didn't demonetize this channel

I ran CMM inspection machines for almost ten years where I worked. Once you got the part (aircraft engine rotating parts) loaded onto the machine and the program set up and started, you could sit down and do whatever until the program was done. Then you checked the printout, highlighted any problems if any and sent the part to whichever waiting area it needed to go, either ‘rework’ or the next operation.

Incredible inefficiency that only one employee knows anything that could halt production.

Not gonna lie. If I was the company, I would of offered OP five or maybe ten times the salary to train four new people for a year with a 10 percent bonus if OP would of been able to catch everything up within the year. That would of probably still been cheaper then getting the measuremen company to train new people.

Fun little mini story. I had a similar job at one point in time. I worked for a food manufacturing plant at one point in time. I also work in IT. Well we had a Zebra printer near the end of one of our production lines. For those who do not know, those are printers that print out labels to be be attached to things like pallets of completed and boxed up product to go to store A, store B, etc. But that was all this printer did. Pallet of product gets ready to be shipped, click button on the computer, print label, attach label to pallet, scan label into system. Put pallet on truck until truck is full. Rinse, lather, repeat.

Well, this one printer was an older model. It still worked, but it had a bit of glitch. If the printer is turned off and then immediately turned back on, sometimes (not every time, but sometimes) it would reset the printer to factory defaults. I'm not sure why, but it was something that they had to deal with. We even put up a sign that said, "If you have to turn the printer off, wait 30 seconds before you turn it back on." But when the printer went to factory defaults, the printer wouldn't work with our program and had to be configured. This happened often enough that I had setup a procedure for this. Which was the config was backed up on my work laptop. So I would go out, plug in a console cable from the laptop to the printer. Load up the printer's configuration program. Click restore. And boom done. It took longer to hook up the console cable then it did to fix the printer.

But unlike the OP in this story. My company understood and appreciated when I needed to get called in. They had a policy that if I was called while on call, even if it was a five second fix, that was guaranteed to be a minimum of two hours of OT. If I had to go on site, it was guaranteed to be a minimum of 4 hours of OT. The pay was a bit below industry standard, but it was still good pay. And 4 hours at time and a half for 10 minute commute and 5 minutes of work wasn't a bad deal. My coworker hated being on call, so I usually was always on call. My thought on that was, "You don't want free money. That's fine by me." The company didn't mind paying that OT, because every hour that a line couldn't run would result in $10, 000 - $50, 000 of lost revenue depending on the product. So my 4 hours of OT more then paid for itself.

Anyways, sorry if I rambled a bit long there. Just thought I'd share my similiar story, albeit without Igor and a company that actually valued my employment.

In the various jobs I have I have seen this time and time again. One time this Bosses brother actually damaged the foundation of their building. They both lasted until the owner found out.

I simply couldn't believe that people like Igor could exist in actual real life... that is until I had to deal with one myself.
Yeah, this story is believable, and I would assert that the redditor in question is telling the truth!

2nd story:
I know that company. I worked even a couple of years for a subsidiary of them (in Europe).
I am not surprised. That's how US companies work and worse, that's how their corporate culture is (especially UK situated plants).
Don't fix a problem; find a scapegoat (indifferent if he's a manager or lowly worker).
Good for OP to work that system for his own benefits.

Dream worthy (or nightmare if you're on the wrong side) Pro Revenge. Good job OP. Thanks for sharing. Thanks to Rob for Reading. Have a Happy Hump Day!

This story was so damn statisfying. In my previous job, I was the victim of an old boys club. I was actively seeking tasks to do, and since the others were working at a snail's pace, they for some reason felt emasculated by a young woman suddenly actively working. They could have just decided to work in an actual reasonable pace, if they felt so damn emasculated. But no, instead, they bullied me so subtly, that I looked like the aggressor when I defended myself.

I wasn't so lucky with the revenge though, because I wasn't really a vital person there. I was a beginner there. But I'm still glad I left the toxicity.

Good morning Rob. Thanks for the stories. Have a great day. Said before, but it's great to have you back.

I can definitely identify with your story. I too had a similar problem but on a much, much smaller scale. It did cause the company to close and several good friends who'd worked there for years lost pensions and such. Which caused them to file a class action suit and they got back about 50% of what they were due. The boss lost almost everything including his trophy bride, a.k.a. 'gold digger'. Sucks to be greedy and stupid.

So glad I found this channel. I watch other channels but they don't upload the content I want often enough. Thanks for filling that void!

When you get the attention of the CEO of a multinational company you know you screw up big time.

This story reminds me of some of the chaos that had happened at my dad’s workplace. He works for Siemens energy and is a manager for the gas turbine sector. He told me about how a team of people were supposed to inspect a turbine before it’s departure the next morning. Apparently, while putting the components together, somebody put a very expensive piece on backwards and the entire turbine had to be taken apart again. Also, since the piece was on backwards, it didn’t fit right and got damaged while being removed, so they had to order a replacement part. Yeah the customer was not happy about that one. Idk how nobody noticed the piece was on backwards tho lmao

Very good example of a corporation trying to shoot down the line but forgetting to make sure it's feet are out of the way. That CEO was Swift and deadly, just as the situation called for. Managers who think it's more important to cover up for incompetent employees should understand that that makes them incompetent managers. And the truth will out! Well played, OP.🌟
