Here are some of my and a lot of people’s suggestions to make Nintendo Switch Online better and worth the $20:

• Give dedicated servers to games such as Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Pokemon Let’s Go etc. to get a better gaming experience, even if it might not be 100% it’s better than not having them.

• Give cloud saves to all Switch games including games such as Splatoon 2, Pokemon Let’s Go and Dark Souls as examples for games that don’t support cloud saves as them “preventing hackers” won’t really do anything since people have already hacked into the games to their liking. I don’t know why they can’t just monitor the hackers and ban them that way, in fact doesn’t the Nintendo Switch app already have a report button that is solely designed to report hackers and trolls on online games like Splatoon 2 (which is the only game on the app) and ban them?

• Add more games from different Nintendo consoles such as SNES, Gameboy, Gameboy Advanced, N64, GameCube and Wii so it’s not just NES games that not everyone wants to play.

• Improve the voice chat, just improve the voice chat.

Just because its cheap compared to others, does not mean its worth it :/

I just really hope we get home screen themes sooner than later. I’m sure this is an easy update, but I don’t want to wait too long for those. Simple but really nice feature that’s reeeaalllyyy missing

Thumbnail says it all, its painfully average. Shame really Nintendo have the potential to be the absolute best but they just squander it. Can you imagine if the switch had a party system with in game voice chat and the library of games extended to all the systems right up to GameCube. I’d never put the switch down.

Nintendo seem so out of touch on anything outside of actual game design. Their concepts of services are outdated, and the execution of those services is often just bad. Perhaps they need to hire some people who are actually good at that stuff, and not just game designers who ended up taking up an empty role in the company. I don't know if it's true, but that's what it feels like.

I got a Nintendo online ad before this lol

It's mind boggling that they delayed it a year, and the voice chat was *still* not fixed like everyone was begging for.

I hope Nintendo at least respond to the criticism. General reaction has rightfully been beyond awful and I don't see them just brushing it under the rug.

You forgot to mention that the free NES games we get become unplayable after not signing in online for 7 days. Completely contradicting the whole point of traveling with the handheld mode gimic.

For £17.99 a year it is barely scraping the barrel of worth it. If it were £49.99 like Xbox live then it would be a major problem

$20 a year isn't that bad compared to the competition, but the fact that we've heard nothing on if server quality will improve is worrying, and the lack of features does not help. Here's hoping the backlash will get to Nintendo and put them to work on improving the service.

Why can't we get N64/Gamecube games... come on, Nintendo!

Pokemon bank keeps your Pokemon after your subscription expires and it’s a 3ds thing

I keep hearing this "Free for 18 months" thing. We're not paying for something we got free for 18 months. We're paying for something we got free since the Wii. The service may have had some improvements done over the years, but we're still paying for the same inferior peer-to-peer connections and the whole thing works fundamentally the same to the consumers. If we were instead paying for dedicated servers, then I could see it being a legitimate argument, but we're not. Oh, and at least the Wii U had the Miiverse. We don't even get that with Switch Online. In regards to paying for extra content for Splatoon 2... I don't even own Splatoon 2. Why should I pay for content for a game I don't own, meanwhile I have to pay additional money for content for a game I DO own (Xenoblade Chronicles 2)? Without the change to dedicated servers, then Nintendo has to justify paying for the service that we've had for free for 10 years with the extra features, which have a subjective cost to everyone. For some people the $20 a year is worth it for the 20 NES games alone. For some it's worth it for Cloud Save alone. For others, they doesn't justify the cost at all.

My only problem is that they took a whole year and it still seems the same.

I like how Nintendo Youtubers like you are being honest with your view on Nintendo's decision for paid online and looking at it in a fair way. Not afraid to call them out if there is something not good.

1. Does it offer dedicated servers to eliminate lag in competitive online games?
2. Does it offer a revamped Virtual Console, featuring NES, SNES, N64, and GameCube games available for purchase?
3. Does it offer better sharing capabilities (e.g., uploading videos longer than thirty seconds to YouTube)?

Those are merely a few of the things I want, and it seems I'm due for serious disappointment.
