Why do our ears pop?

Ear popping sucks. It's a loud snap in your ear when you least want it, on a plane when you're trying to sleep and ignore the sleeping baby, on an elevator when you're trying to hold back your sneeze, or on a road trip where you really have to pee. But why does it happen?

Well, simply put, it has to do with the Eustachian tubes, tubes that connect the middle ear to the mouth and nose. When you move your mouth, the eustachian tubes open, allowing for air to move freely between the middle ear and mouse/nose. Eventually, the middle ear (very quickly) will establish a similar pressure to the outside, through a very rapid movement of air, which is picked up as a pop.

I live Illinois close ti chigago. One time me and my 2 Friends went to a trip in the metra train to chigago. Then we decide to go at the Willis tower skydeck. So we went to the Sky deck elevator to floor 103. It was going up and up.then me and my 2 Friends ears stared to pop and i taught i was going to die. I tried to swallow the salava. Then we went to go down at the 1 floor. Our ears stared to pop again and i hate it so much. Next time i buying gum while going up a higher elevater i think that Will work i guess.
