Is It OK to Throw House Spiders Outside?

Some gentle souls will trap spiders in a jar and release them outside, waiting for them to scurry away. But is this outdoor relocation an act of compassion, or a death sentence for the spider?

Spiders kill mosquitoes. Mosquitoes kill more people than spiders. Therefore, spiders are good. Dont kill them.

Don't get me wrong: I like spiders, I don't fear this fellas at all. And I usually leave them alone in my home. They do their business, and I do mine. Occasionally I remove their abandoned webs. Works fine in most cases.

But if they invate my privacy, I show them the door.

Can't believe all the ignorant cruel people that kill them. They may be big but are harmless.

UK house spiders especially the giant versions of the species are particularly terrifying when you don't expect it to suddenly appear.

I use to not be able to sleep if i saw one that i didnt end its life. Nowadays just look at one on the wall and say to myself, oh he is just here because there is food somewhere in here and its watching over me. Thanks my little neighbors. took a few years to overcome the fear and change my mindset about them. Next step is to let one crawl on me if it can and see how i do.

Listen, I like spiders, spiders are allowed to live in my home.
But when a giant house spider hides in my sink while I’m just trying to cook my eggs at 6 in the morning, I’m throwing them out.

Is It OK to Throw House Spiders Outside? 0538am 2.4.23 the more compassionate aspect of this is.... is there isn't one. they have legs, the move around and will return to a familiar territory. if placed outside. i know this. i have caught them, myself, placed them outside and lo!!! a day or so later they have walked right back into the home.. who is that dude, ask i? ah its that spider (again) i released out in the open only yesterday...maybe they have the same sense of trust bees or wasps do ie: if you catch them and allow them to go on their way or place them on a flower of food source they associate your essence or stench with nourishment or your not being a threat... so they keep on returning? it is ok to place them outside safe in the knowledge that they might forgo homing in on you and just plump for any dry and secluded spot ie: a neighbour's car or another person's homestead? of course you could have selfish negated neighbours who brush their dogs out in the road and allow all manner of asthma inducing shit to occur... these are the types who will break into your home and leave wood lice or spiders running about within it... cos they're retarded. the spider, in that respect, has a higher IQ. the spider knowns when it is on to a good thing. it IS safe to catch them in a jar and free them - just make sure its near a garage, as she said or near a secluded covering. spider usually start making an appearance around autumn time when they you stick on the i dont kill 'em, though... but i dont want them in my home. they can stay in the loft.

I do not fear spiders, just being bitten, crawled over and face-time with them.

I know they’re not in our houses for us and they’re there for fly’s etc but I can’t have these running round my room at night, would never kill them though

House spiders are called that for a reason, they need to be in a house 😑

I don't throw them outside, I pick them up and place them outside, well away from the door so they can't run back in.

I squashed a spider with my fingertip once and it didn’t die completely. I saw it’s legs shaking furiously and slowly got back to its other side and was dragging itself with the front 2 legs like it was paralyzed from the waist down I felt so damn bad.

In my opinion it's fine, I've seen these spiders thriving outside just fine. There's a whole neighborhood in the rock wall behind Wendy's. Just find them somewhere they can make a little home in a crevice and they'll be fine.

It’s up to me whether it’s ok or not. I always throw them back out but never kill them like most people do.
