US, allies form task force against Russian oligarchs | Russia News | NewsRme

The US and its democratic allies have formed an international task force to prosecute Russian billionaires who have violated sanctions and other harsh measures imposed after Moscow attacked Ukraine.

Russian Elites, Proxies and Oligarchs (REPO) task force was created on Wednesday during a meeting with US, Australian, Canadian and German government officials as well as members of the EU and other countries.
A lot of democratic countries were very angry when Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, and they've been putting sanctions and other things in place against Russia for a long time now.
A profound recession has now set in for Russia's economy, which the IMF says was already severely harmed by the sanctions.
