All-New 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe // Still the top of the class?

This is a Motormouth couple car review of the all-new 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe, full-size, body-on-frame SUV. What’s New? The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe gets a refreshed exterior design and interior design plus a new diesel engine. Updates to the interior include a new 17.7” touchscreen, new enhanced safety features, a new autosense power liftgate, expanded Super Cruise availability and trailering enhancements. The exterior has refreshed exterior lighting, new wheels on every trim and new grilles and fascia.
There are three engine choices all paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission 2WD and 4WD options.
The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe gets the new second generation 3L in-line six turbo diesel with 10% more horsepower than the previous diesel engine 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque. It’s offered on all trims including the Z71 for the first time.
The base 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe engine is a 5.3L V8 with 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque and a 6.2L V8 with 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque which is standard on High Country.
The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe RST performance model offers even more power from the 6.2L V8, 433 horsepower and 467 lb-ft of torque.
The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe can tow 8400 pounds.

I have had 6 Yukon XL’s and they were great trucks for hauling trailers and Hockey bags and weekend trips to the cottage. I had great luck with the 6.2l. My silverados also worked well with the 6.2. I just went to the 3.0 Duramax and I can’t believe the fuel mileage. If you are not hauling a 30ft trailer I would totally recommend it. It is strong and quite for an inline 6. I would consider going to the diesel on the next Yukon/Suburban.

The 2025 Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade is far and above a superior SUV to any of the others in that class. Fit and Finish, QC, build quality is second to none. Ford Expedition will have half a dozen recalls in the first year like every other Ford product. I know I owned 6 of them. In Canada the dealers get so little allocation for these SUVs that they almost always sell for MSRP or close to it. First couple years demand will be higher then production.

Have to wait till March 2025 to order the 3.0 Duramax Diesel, currently I have a 22 Tahoe with the Duramax. The mileage is unbelievable, the best on the highway on a long trip was37hwy and lifetime e is 28.

If you plan on keeping a long time, avoid the air suspension unless you have very deep pockets. Nearly a guaranteed $8, 000. Time bomb 7-10 years down the road.
