V Rising - Deal more damage with weaker weapons - How damage works in V Rising

Short and quick explanation of how and when damage is being applied and how you can use it with weaker/worse weapons. Also one thing I missed in the video - spear and pistols 1st ability does not work, because if you switch or unequip weapon while channeling these abilities, it will immediately cancel them.

So if you use pistol E for example, then switch to another weapon before it explodes, the explosion will do damage based on the weapon you're holding rather than the pistol?
