4x4 Off-Road UTV Build - START to FINISH

Показать описание
From start-to-finish homemade 4x4 off road utility vehicle build made from used front wheel drive car parts, homemade tube frame and other homemade parts needed to make a car work. The whole project was built over a span of one year.

This is the last part of a series of a four wheel drive utility vehicle build to lessen the work load on my trusty 2002 Honda Foreman Rubicon TRX500FA. This partially answers the question "Why?" but for those who want to ask "why don't you just buy a UTV instead of building one?" I just want to say - I'm not made of money. UTV-s are ridiculously expensive, even the car I drive around daily is worth less (not worthless though!), hell, it is even worth less than my 2002 Honda ATV.

"How much HP will it have?" - the 1.4 litre FWD Peugeot petrol engine I'm using has 55 kw and this will not change, but the torque is tripled via the BMW E39 differentials I'm using to transfer power to front and rear axles.

"It will be too heavy!" - this project just like the firewood processor project does not have to float. And a heavier vehicle will handle better anyway when hauling heavy loads.

All of this fabrication is done in my tiny homemade workshop.

Stay tuned for future videos! Thanks for watching!

The only thing I’d have done differently assuming I had your budget and skills is to have had the engine totally rebuilt before installation. You’ve put so much time money, and effort into this build! Great job!

Looks great Donn, don’t forget the “loose nut” behind the steering wheel !!🤣. Thanks for sharing with us, enjoyed watching everyone of the videos on this project. Now I will brew a new pot of coffee ☕️ and get ready for the next ride. Totally awesome what you can do and not burn the barn down. Stay safe and keep having fun. Fred. 🙏🏻🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻✋🏻✋🏻👊🏻👊🏻

You know it's not just the many hours of skilled trial and error in the build but also the vision to see BMW axles and a small engine and turn them into an impressive and practical car. Well done!

Donny I have watched this build from start to finish and all I can say is totally outstanding. Every inch is a professional build, my hat is off to you sir! I am a ASE master technician and have watched you take on things that I have seen seasond tech struggle with and never blink an eye. Once again great job!!!

Donn I'm glad I didn't find you from the beginning only b/c waiting for the next video to come out would be torture. This way I can watch each series in its entirety as time allows. Btw, you deserve every compliment found in these comments. The 4x4 trailer [where I started], and this build have been outstanding. *God bless.*

You did an amazing job on this one, a massive undertaking and it turned out to be a capable off-road vehicle…
Only one thing is missing, the CUPHOLDER! 😁

What other channels call Builds are just "put back together"s. THIS is a Build! A bespoke vehicle.

Just wow. That's all I can say. I pray I had half your shop and skill. I know deep down I could build something like that. I just dont have the tools shop or financial backing right now. I just love finding channels like yours that just fill my mind with new info and ideas! Thank you for sharing us a peak into your creative mind!

You sir are a master fabricator. If there is an apocalypse, you will be a survivor because of your ability to make things by using old car parts. A great skill to have. Look forward to your new videos.

Офигенно зажигательная штука получилась! Производители всяких там мелких вездеходов да квадриков нервно курят в сторонке! С меня 100500 лайков. Ах да, можно ж только один лайк.

I’m so impressed. I’m disappointed I watched a lot of tv shows to see how this can be done. Your video here made it simple . Ty
