WCDRR: Women in risk reduction and resilience building

Women are an active and creative part of regular risk reduction and community resilience. This is not recognized due to their social placement and attitudes, while their specific vulnerabilities, which are created by social, economic, institutional, political factors, are highlighted. Duryog Nivaran will present a few success stories on how women have been involved in resilience building in the Asian region, from among the case studies that provided input for the post-2015 framework for DRR Key Area 4 Asia Pacific document on ‘Women as a force in resilience building and gender equity in DRR.
