Well, no offense to Ms. Ilwicka, but learning one's a Jew simply by being told is really not much of a story. My own Jewishness had to be proven to me, mostly by (1) sense of humor, (2) sense of exclusion from Christian America, (3) realization that being a Jew didn't provide answers as much as it encouraged asking questions.
