The Mexican Cubano Sandwich

A lot of people in the comments don't seem to be aware. Rick isn't making a "Mexican Cuban Sandwich". Unlike the Cuban sandwich, the torta Cubana is an invention out of Mexico City, named after the street it came from.

They're both sandwiches, they're both called "Cuban", but they are different things.

Sorry, but I lived most of my life in Mexico and I have never seen a Torta Cubana with bacon! Everything else is correct but instead of bacon you must use pan fried hotdogs sliced lengthways! Oh! Almost forgot, two types of cheese, American and either Panel or Fresco Cheese!

Cubanos are very different. Mustard, swiss and pickles. The only thing similar in this is combining ham with roast pork

That Movie screwed everything up!! It's not a "Cubano"? It's called a Cuban sandwich. The correct way to make a (Cuban sandwich) is with Deli sliced seasoned Roasted "leg" of pork? Other than that, it's like that for a reason? Otherwise with your pulled pork pieces, it'll start falling out of the sandwich? I can't believe how far this confusion has gone? No resect for it's authenticity!! Sorry, Chef..(do your research!)

No offense, but this sandwich should be renamed the "FAT SANDWICH." One big hunk of unhealthy saturated fat after another, not to mention the tons of cholesterol. And people wonder why they get fat, get high blood pressure, get high cholesterol, and get heart attacks, strokes, and diabetes.
