Engineers wet dreams. Mechanics worst nightmare.

I actually find it amazingly economical as a Boeing 747 consumes more full per hour. Yes, a 747 travels 20 times faster than the container ship the RT FLEX96C propels but the ship weighs a 1000 times more than a 747

7, 600, 000 Nm!!! That is an almost unimaginable amount of torque. If my maths is correct, (which it probably isn't) then theoretically if you had a lever that was 10kms long or 6.21 miles long and it was infinitely strong and weighed nothing and it was connected to the end of the crankshaft then it would still take 77.4kg or 170lbs of force at the end of the lever to overcome the max torque of the engine. If that is true then that's unbelievable.

$9 Million worth of fuel for running non-stop for 1 month ... That's enough time to reach London from NYC
Now imaging carrying 350, 000 tons of cargo in just $9 Million fuel....obviously there are other costs as well but fuel is the biggest expense on any cargo vehicle including ships

That big boy is super efficient... Kudos to the engineers behind its manufacturing ...huge respect

2.3 kg of fuel for 1 hp/working 24 hours.
That is very economical engine!

I want to know how the hell do they grind the crankshaft?? I can’t imagine the size of their crankshaft grinder! Some of the things that humans can accomplish is amazing.

Honest question: why can’t they use nuclear power? It’s about twice the tonnage of the biggest aircraft carrier, so couldn’t they just scale up the reactor?

Dodge Vipers can deliver roughly as much torque, fyi.

If they using 4 stoke, it should be better fuel consumption. Because it's a massive diesel engine

I think the ford 351w will keep up with it 😂😂😂

Nuclear powered vessels are the solution imo, this technology should be used beyond navy purposes. At least in peaceful zones. Which all zones should be..
