It's only a surprise to those who don't pay attention. They did this to them self's

ebola.

It wasn't unexpected. The moment Germany stop using Russian resources was the moment of their decline. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to calculate that one.

Our economy struggling with uncertainties, housing issues, foreclosures, global fluctuations, and pandemic aftermath, causing instability. Rising inflation, sluggish growth, and trade disruptions need urgent attention from all sectors to restore stability and stimulate growth.

Germans work so little. It is truly crazy. I worked for an automaker buying parts from german suppliers and the workers are so often on vacation that we never had any support even in crisis, which caused us to end our relationship. Working with german companies is a nightmare.

Investing in alternate income streams should be the top priority for everyone right now. especially given the global economic crisis we are currently experiencing. stocks, gold, silver, and virtual currencies are still attractive investments at the moment.

Well presented but ignored the elephant in the room… the influence of the USA for the down fall of both Japan and Germany

All those billions spent on combustion engine technology is fast becoming worthless.

It is disheartening to see the downfall. Full blame on politicians for this. It is very difficult to rise back unless they get back on nuclear energy and employers not stick to German language restrictions for skilled immigrants

Good Video, you really succeded in pointing out the different problems the German economy at the moment. Many problems coming together making a fast resolution nearly impossible. It is (from my perspective) a good example for a polycrises, consisting of external factores(energy imports, declining exports), internal developments (demographics, low public spending, battered infrastructure), a lack of strategic longterm-thinking in the higher levels of politics and companies and a small portion of "German arrogance".

Thanks for your work so far, I really enjoy it.

On the paperwork/red tape issue, it’s funny how Germany and Japan have formed a new axis of fax machine hold-outs.

The energy crisis exerted brutal and pervasive impacts on German industries which has hindered its economy. Without Russian gas, German factories have floundered.

Globalisation helps in era where the word politics is in harmony altogether which helps all. But in an era of war and uncertainty and external shocks, few countries get benefit.

Come on German friends, we are each other's best partners, working-wise we understand each other quickly and together we do superlative things: roll up your sleeves and overcome this phase of uncertainty!
Best regards from Italy

You report some things incorrectly: First, you have to apply the same standards:
Unemployment in Germany is lower than that of the UK, or conversely if you apply the German system to the UK then the unemployment rate in the UK would be 10%. You are comparing apples and oranges.
In addition, during and after the pandemic, there was a wage freeze, which was lifted in 2024, and of course there was a wave of strikes in all sectors. But now the wave of strikes has subsided, there is a wage growth of 24% with an average price increase of 20%, so the wage increase exceeds that of inflation. Furthermore Social spending has increased not decreased, as you say. Public investment has also increased in AI, renewable technologies and megafactories for semiconductors and batteries. But it takes time for it to pay off, and the next government will then claim the progress for itself. There are also faster planning and approval procedures now, and by the time these take effect, a new government will be in power. The nuclear power plants only provided 5% of the electricity needed and have already been replaced by renewables. After all, Germany already produces 62% of its electricity from renewable sources. - Digitalization: It is above all the high level of protection of personal data (because there were two dictatorships on German soil) that presents a long tail of bureaucratic hurdles. Everything that has to do with authorities must be stored on German servers and not on American servers where the NSA is allowed to monitors everything. However, the German economy lacks skilled workers, which reduces productivity- although automation is higher in Germany than in the UK, for example. Yes, Deutsche Bahn (train) was underfunded for 16 years, now finally construction is taking place everywhere, which is leading to delays everywhere. Nothing was invested in bridges and infrastructure during the 16 years of conservative governments, now finally something is happening. VW still doesn't seem to have understood that the conservatives are no longer in power and are subsidizing them, and pay their managers extremely high bonuses to this day.

Good video, thanks all authors. Only claiming it was "unexpected" sounds like bitter sarcasm.

Being America's enemy is dangerous, Being America's friend is fatal 😂 that is costing Germany everything. US blew Nordstream and Germany is paying the price 😅

It's just a new Japan, this was bound to happen. In the future Poland will be a much better bet than Germany from now on.
