This video is a tutorial on Volume. Please make yourself a revision card while watching this and attempt my examples. Straight away then move to my video on Volume 2 - Exam Questions 9. This video is for students attempting the Higher paper AQA Unit 3 Maths GCSE, who have previously sat the foundation paper. Explanations are aimed at being as simple as possible and so students who previously did the Foundation paper can access. They would also be useful for students who have always sat the higher paper.

Hi Waqar. I made these for a class of mine last year. They would be very useful for you.My explanations are made to be as simple as possible to make them easier to understand but still all the maths is there. For you work on the linked past paper Qs by topic would be very useful to test ur knowledge&them mark against my video. These are also useful for ur friend as maths is maths&lots of the content is the same. I would say they should check their syllabus just to ensure there is nothing extra .

Hi hegarty,
i'm just wondering that you always say that these videos are aimed at foundation student but i've never done foundation, i'm actually doing higher and predicted an A, will this still come useful because you did say that your making it as simple as posssible. secondly, i know someone is delighted to what you video unfortunely he/she cannot because they edexcel, is it still possible to watch your videos, this is for GCSE's.
thanks.

Why did you round the 314 on the cylinder Q/. Shouldn’t you not have left it in terms of pie (100pie) then times by 18? We were told never to round mid question. I don’t know I might be wrong but just asking.

Quick question. I recently sat a maths exam independently because I needed proof of maths GCSE and I had 3 days to revise. In the exam, I had a few questions where I had to use Pi in my calculations but the exam didn't define Pi, it left that to you. I substituted Pi for 3.14 and did my calculations from there. Will my answers be incorrect, or is there a range of acceptable answers depending on how you define Pi?

I did explain before I started doing calculations that I would be defining Pi as 3.14

I only ask because I noticed you used 3.146 and got slightly different answers to me and now I'm worried I will have lost several marks unnecessarily.

7:21 - wouldnt it be pi x 10 to the power of 2? not pi x 10 x 10?
if so it would equal 985.96cmsquared
