Honkai’s gacha system is also cursed. You never need BiS weapons for 5 star chars in Genshin but in Honkai it feels like u always need to pull for the weapons too.

To those newbie ask why Kallen can't be brute forced, Kallen as a boss in universal mirage and Memory arena is immmune to elemental damage (ice, fire and thunder). And only physical damage can harm her.
For the starter supply, meh this reminds me of last time Hi3 use dorm supply as starter supply, my first 2 guaranteed S-rank is Dimension Breaker and Knight Moonbeam, i only able to see how powerful S-rank valkyrie is after pulling HoR from gacha supply.

I knew very little starting out a year ago and got HoHE in my first ten pull on the starter banner. Went all in on her gears and don't regret it, still clear Elysian Realm Corruption every week and can brute force a lot of content (obviously not ice immune/resistant but everything else). I absolutely agree that the starter banner in general probably wasn't wise to pull on, but if you have the crystals, might as well go once and see if you get lucky, it was discounted maybe even half off so it wasn't too much. My other option on starter banner wasn't nearly as good (I don't remember which Durandal battlesuit it was) but clearly I was fated to be an Elysia main and I couldn't be happier about it.

New HI3 player here~ And I just gotta say, you are actually right. I built Senadina cuz she's the reason I started playing in the first place, and I built Coralie just cuz she looks cool. Just from these accidental builds, I'm actually having an easy time plowing thru the story quests. I also recently tried out Helia in the Part 2 quests and tbh, those three have really good synergy with each other so I'll most likely build her as well.

now, more than ever, DO NOT PULL STARTER SUPPLY. ASTRAL RINGS ARE GONNA BE HUGE SOONER OR LATER, SO FOCUSING ON ASTRAL RING SUPPORTS LIKE CORALIE OR HELIA WILL BE A GOOD THING FOR YOUR ACCOUNT. we may see stuff outside of world star aside from coralie sooner rather than later, so I would say getting coralie and her weapon + senadia for a great DPS (yes, you can get 90+ pulls in this patch fairly easily in the early game, i have literally done this myself and have all of senadia's stigmas) will help your DPS down the line. however, I do see a world star focus for a while to keep the main cast for part 2 relevant for a few months.

preferably for an absolute new player who has no idea what in game terms means, what is equipment supply is, dailies, shop priority, etc ?

I did the beginner pull and I got Herrscher of Flamescion back in ver 5.5, it was 28th March 2022 lol. I got her weapon and her T stigma too. Now she's 3/4 (M piece missing). I know she's not meta anymore but for me personally, she's still helpful enough, while as i had the herrscher trio (only HoFi is full set lol)

Its quite sad when I can afford to finally build trio (missing only HoFi gear and one HoTr stigma) they are basically offmeta
For img abyss I can just use HoTr/HoO and other players can just use FoV or Luna if they dont have anyone from trio

When I started playing, I rolled starter(it was HoT Mei and Azure Empyrea), got Fu Hua, and she carried me for a long time. Starter is quite good imo, not a must, but a really nice option

I'm glad started play HI3rd even before Herrscher valkyrie been released. I don't have to go through starter supply.

I had HoHE as my starter supply. I pulled her last month on 2nd 10x pull. Then her weapon on 1st 10x pull. After that, I stop spending and just save up. I don't feel that it's a waste as I really like HoHe and having her signature weapon is a big help.

For me I already have the full herrscher team with their gear only Kiana gear is missing so I guess it's a win for me
