I'm 54 years old, and growing up we used to mix ice cream with different types of soda water (?) Like 7-up, schweppes, fanta, coca cola etc, and we all loved it. It was like a milkshake but without the milk, very yummy. And obviously, "Monster" didn't exist back then, certainly not where I'm from anyway. But either way it's actually really good, and kids tend to love it 😄👌

For the record: it definitely works best with plain vanilla ice cream.
