Lampedusa: Thousands of migrants arrive on Italian island

Sky's John Sparks reports from the Italian island of Lampedusa, where thousands of migrants from Africa and the Middle East have arrived within days.

Sky News spent time with one of the medical professionals who's caring for those who arrive.

1. Do NOT leave your homes unattended.
2. Do NOT leave the women unattended or alone.
3. Have means to defend yourselves at all times.

90% of these migrants come from country's that are not at war, nor any other reason to leave. Other than to scrounge from the good of a european country. It is illegal to enter a country without permission so that should be a jail sentence, if i illegally sold drugs i wouldn't get pay outs, a home, cloths, and whatever else from the government would i. They get rewarded for breaking the law it's mindblowing.

So the locals who pay their taxes for the health service have to wait to be seen.

My sympathy is with the inhabitants of the island who are now outnumbered by this large injection of diversity.

they put themselves at this risk, no one else put them there, they want to ask who gave them a dingy and what did they tell these people they going to get ?

Notice how Sky has made this look like a desperate humanitarian mission by completely ignoring the fact that the vast majority of these people are men and the furious islanders themselves have been completely left out of the report. Lampedusa is swamped and many of these men will be coming here. The EU's only plan is to help establish safer routes which will of course encourage millions more and Sky New knows it.

Imagine conquering an entire continent without ever firing one shot. That is what is happening in Europe and North America.

What were they told was going to happen when they landed in the thousands? My guess is they were told they would be housed and fed for free unlike in their home Countries. And why have the local citizens not been interviewed? Their stories, their views are just as important as this is their home.
