I've never seen a dryer vent that didn't have lint build up. When it's on the wall, the homeowner can usually inspect it for clogs. A clogged dryer vent is a good way to catch your house on fire. Great message!

These tips might be useful to someone but I want to try and fix this on my own.

I have one of these and it is impossible to keep clean. To make matters worse, the vent clearly says "not to be used for Dryer". Dryer vents shouldn't have a screen like mine does. It should have a flap. Also, this is snow country. It gets blocked in winter. I want to reroute the vent through the garage and out the side wall. It's only 3 ft and will be easier to clean.

My rooftop dryer vent was getting clogged every three months 🤦🏽‍♂️ it turned out the wire gate holes are too small and that’s where the lint was getting caught and accumulating. I took off the wire gate and now my dryer breathes much better. My only problem now is hoping no birds or rodents decide to make the vent their home. I’m still thinking of what to replace the wire gate with but for the meantime it’s working perfectly fine.

I am upgrading my home, my contractor wants to put dryer vent on the roof, even though we have an option to put it in the wall.

We do have a dryer vent on the roof so that way snow wont block the dryer vent when its winter

So you recommend contacting a plumber to move the dryer vent over say a general contractor etc? Been wondering who could move a vent and have no idea who would do such work.

isnt that what lint screens are for...how would lint get around that
