I did that as measured .The clothes were not clean and then i had to rewash all over again. A couple of tablespoons of detergent is not going to clean my laundry. Ive tried it and it doesnt work for me.

To be fair, when washing items like bedsheets, where body oils build up, 2 tablespoons isn’t enough to cut through that grime.

Idk man. That amount seems to NEVER wash my clothes correctly. I feel like you need good amount.

I use Tide or Persil liquid detergent. I follow the instructions on the package. I start with the amount recommended for a medium load. Medium Load is 1.5 ounces or 3 tablespoons.

2 tablespoons but also adding oxiclean works really well

There is a solution for that mould. Do hot empty washes once a month with a dishwasher tablet or sodium bicarbonate and vinegar. I own a 12 year old front loader and i never wiped it and it works fine and still no mould!! And the more detergent the more clean clothes come out! But with the more detergent you need to use the extra rinse function. To avoid mould the steps are above. Also the mould comes from washing in cold temperatures and using cheap detergents. A monthly hot wash helps avoid all of that. If you have a super stained towel are we gonna use 2 tbsp? NO!! You need one of those capfuls for very soiled laundry on a warm wash.

If I don’t see my clothes drenched in the soapy water spinning in the glass for me to see…. Then it’s not enough detergent lol

I always just put the tide free and gentle in the lid up to where it says 3. It gets my clothes clean and they smell fresh. The free and gentle doesn’t have much of a fragrance because it doesn’t have any perfumes or dyes in it but the clothes do smell fresh.

That’s why I love German products their detergents are machine safe and makes sure they’re won’t be so much gunk in the pipes and even for that they have machines cleaners. I love Europe!!

Honey. I'm sorry, but I really can not take cleanliness advice from the people that don't really value cleanliness

The lines are correct if you follow the instructions.

The lines on the caps are there for a reason. Laundry detergent is like shampoo. If you use enough, your clothes will get clean. If you use too little, they won’t get cleaned properly. For me, I wash huge loads, so at least a capful of detergent per load is a must.

Some mean green or simple green added won't hurt for greasy grimy laundry. If ur bedding is that gross ur not changing it enough.

This is a question of concentration, dilution and volume of water you've set your machine to. This is basic chemistry and not the baloney statement he just put out.

definitely don't use the manufacturers recommendations...but be careful not to use too little...

If you have one of these machines make sure you climb inside and wipe it out after every use, leave every door and drawer open all the time, leave the closest outside door open so it will get fresh air, and last but not least take it all apart and rebuild it every few months or so. After you do all of that perfectly, you might not get a mildew problem, but there is no guarantee.

Isn't there also a great difference between front end? Loading washing machines and top loaders?

Depends the front loaders yes your correct they are meant for he low water. If you have a standard washer 2Tbs is not enough for the amount of water. I have a giant top load with deep wash no center agitator but if you choose load size it fills up way more then the auto sense h.e. mode. Clothes are half dry on the top on that setting abf clothes dont actually submerge or clean well

It really depends on what you’re washing, what detergent your are using and how hard your water is.

I’ve found that 50 to 80 mL of my detergent of choice works well with most of my stuff, and my very hard water. That’s around 3.5 tablespoons on the low end up to 5.5 on the high end.
