People laugh like crazy about hating this little car, but I have a fleet of 24 of them and my lowest mileage one has 74, 216 miles on it, I just bought a 18000 mie CPO car with 4yr warrany for 9500. I have one in my garage with 193, 553 miles on it, I have beat the shit out of thing, it just keeps running and running, synthetic oil, cruisng down the interstate at 80mph at 3800rpm and returning 36mpg at the same time, ... I did buy the factory cruise control for it though. Its a two door toyota. Get them before there dont exist any more. Btw Im 6"3', 240 lbs.

"You never gonna find me in these seats" a couple's car got towed away in Acadia national parks about 30 mins to headquarters, gave them a ride and saved the day. If you in that position trust me you'll get in that back seat lol...

"It's not the worst car I've ever driven..." Well, there's that.

If you need a parking camera on a car that is as big as a child walker you really need to return your driver's license to authorities.

1200 dollars for a head unit? An aftermarket one for half the price would have much more features.

I test drove a used Scion iQ on the Interstate yesterday and got 46mpg.  I'm 6' 4" / 230lbs and had plenty of room.  Fun to drive.  No worries - EXCEPT - it does NOT come with a spare tire, jack or lug wrench. Instead there is a kit with a can of pressurized tire sealant and puncture patch to get you to a repair shop.
(I owned a Scion xB, which at the time was rated the most reliable car sold in America. Do not expect the iQ to be the same quality as the xB.  J.D. Powers gave it 2 stars out of 5, across the board.)

Ahhh...this review was SO much more sensible than the disastrously incompetent review from Consumer Reports. CNET reviewed the car for what it is, not for what it isn't. And as such, it was helpful.

the toyota dealer loaned me one of these while the car was in for warranty service. It's fun to drive and has surprising leg room in the front. The only thing I didn't like is the road noise. There is zero sound insulation in the floor and on the highway the road noise roars through the cabin. Luckily, they put good stereos in Scions, so you can just crank up the music to drown it out.

if you can park a 'regular' car...you can
thread a needle with the IQ almost at will.
really best suited for the urban situation thou she does drive
on the Interstates with it but it is l o u d at speed.

you can cross shop it with da sonic >> da hatchback version of da sonic is very very short in terms of overall length which is what it matters for those who are shopping for these kinds of cars

Why would you need a back up camera for this car?

...am I missing something with the Sonic and iQ mpg comparison here? The .gov rating for iQ is 37 on average (whereas fuelly is coming up around the 34 mark) and the Sonic is listed as 28 mpg on average and gets around that much according to fuelly

If he had gotten into the back seat to try it (for his review) he would have learned that a 6" 1 guy in the front and a 6' 1" guy in the back (passenger side) fit easily and comfortably. Behind the driver the room is less though and better suited for a child. I am really surprised by this car and really like it. Drives great in the city and on the highway. If this were a typical 3500 pound car the the horsepower to weight ratio would be a 153 hp car. Not a muscle car but not too bad either. And since this car is a city car it does just fine!
