I love this review. Imagine how many movies Kermode has seen; how many years he’s been reviewing. And in that time how many movies have had running and jumping and driving and hijinks and world-saving…and after all that time a film can come along and reduce him to a giddy schoolboy! Whether it’s the potential of the medium or something unique about Cruise it doesn’t matter, I just love that it’s possible and that it happened. Pure joy.

I'm fairly sure Tom Cruise doesn't accept a script unless at least one insurance agent has a heart attack when they read it.

One of the most pleasantly unexpected parts of the recent M:I films has been the chemistry between Ethan and Benji. The scene after the Vienna Opera in the safehouse/boat where Benji gets angry at Ethan and tells him he's staying is low key some of the best acting in the whole series by Simon Pegg.

Don't think I've ever seen him this excited!

Tom Cruise and his 80s/90s period was incredible. He's worked with some of the greatest in the world. "Collateral" is also an underrated classic!

This movie is what every other summer blockbuster should aspire to be.

This franchise is amazing tbh...the last 2 films have been excellent. Tom Cruise and McQuarrie are onto something special.

From the clip, the role reversal / Ethan objecting to doing a ridiculous stunt, is a great little skit. Loving it already! 🤣

I am so happy to hear this. I'm a huge fan of the franchise, absolutely in love with what Tom Cruise in partnership Chris McQuarrie have brought to us. And the first one will still hold a dear place in my heart as one of if not the best one in the series
I own a blue ray collection with all prior 6 movies. I think I will be watching those again as I wait for this one

Just came out of a press screening in Berlin and rushed onto Youtube to see and hear what these guys had to say about it. Happy to find we’re on the same page. It’s brilliant and breathtaking!

Just seen it with my son and I can attest to everything he said, felt like 90mins and simply brilliantly paced, funny, well cast and can’t wait for the next one.

As always, credit to Cruise for all his dedication to pleasing the audience and for helping save cinema. It is however not nearly as gripping as Fallout. The early scene where every character in the room takes turns in saying half a sentence is so contrived and belongs in Fast & Furious. Most of the best action sequences occur in the trailer and the end of the film, so you're just left waiting for it to happen. Whats a shame is that the wonderful action sequences from Fallout and Rogue Nation where a difficult task becomes monumentally harder through no fault of their own are lacking here. Exposition scenes are cringeworthy. 7/10.

Tom Cruise is in his 2011-12 Lionel Messi season with Top Gun: Maverick ($1.4 billion movie / A+ Cinema Score) and Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning (likely the biggest box office of the franchise) coming out back to back.

Watched it this afternoon and wow. Excellent film. There were a few questionable moments but overall it knocked it out of the park. I really want to go back and watch it again already.

Thanks for that guys 👍. This will be my first Mission Impossible @ the cinema. I'm 67 & really looking forward to it. Amazing to think Tom Cruise does his own stunts, & he's 61!

Best modern franchise hands down. Knew and very glad that this continues the brilliant run of movies.

I cannot WAIT to see this film. They somehow keep getting better. FALLOUT is one of THE greatest action films I've ever ever seen, up there with Die Hard. I get the feeling this one is SOMEHOW going to be even better?!❤🙌🏻

After a decade of waiting, Mark finally reviews a Mission: Impossible movie. Would love to hear his review on Rogue Nation and Fallout too.

This is another billion dollar grossing movie for Tom within a year of his previous billion dollar grossing movie, that's going to be nuts
