Back again with some Super Mario Kart Lost Bits! Hey guys, welcome to LOST BITS! Where I will cover unused and unseen things in various games! In this video we explore Mario's first karting adventure: Super Mario Kart, to find various unused graphics, animations and models! By using some Debug codes in Super Mario Kart, we can also access some more secrets. Although Super Mario Kart isn't my favourite Mario Kart game by far, it's still really interesting to have another look at the series roots. I know 64 was the one that made Mario Kart legendary but, My friends and I played this one for a good 2 years before N64 and even after it came out! This game was just fun as hell and probably the best 16 bit racing game of all time BY FAR!

for the record, that debug tool that instantly crashes the game that you think is useless is something programmers use to measure the perimeters of what triggers a soft crash in certain portions of the code.

The fact that the unused font only covers A through F means it was likely used only to display hexadecimal numbers for debugging, as you said, since you only need 0-9 and A-F in hex.
