Get around it while we still have stock and get pumped for what is to come in the Rexy Clothing space. Also head over to the gaming channel which has relaunched, you’ll laugh, I promise.
Much love, Herron

you guys might wanna incorporate streamers attached to the rear of things like the sword and similar shapes. just a few feet of cloth will keep it from tumbling so badly.

I think science with Gaunson is the realest segment on Youtube. He's just breaking down his thought process and taking us along on the journey, and somehow it always makes some sort of sense. He is truly an artist at dissecting the psyche and making it degestable. A modern-day Aussie Richard Feynman if I may

A giant metal raindrop would be awesome for something like this, since it’s the most aerodynamic shape!!

Pancake is due to Physics. MythBusters covered this in the penny drop episode!

These guys should build a trebuchet and launch stuff.

14:13 Yes, the pancake is just due to physics. It's not just bad luck. It's pretty typical aerodynamics. Absent some sort of stabilization (drag stabilization, e.g. fins, or gyroscopic stabilization, i.e. spin), an object will generally orient in such a way that it has the most drag. Forget where I learned that, but I know Adam Savage mentioned it in Veritasium's Rods from God video.

I would try connecting a small drogue parachute the the back of the items, it would provide stability. Most of the items are heavy enough for the extra drag to not really matter much, maybe 1% difference in speed

Gotta say guys, wasn't in a great place this morning. Struggling at the moment but this video really made me smile and brought much needed light to today.

Boys, can you please break down how the conversations goes when booked a helicopter for this video? Id love to see the back and forth from you and the heli people.

The sword needed a drouge parachute to keep it orientated correctly. It would have slowed imperceptibly but would have been pointy bit first, and likely to the hilt/cross guard. You should try it you crazy rapscallions!😉🙃👍🤙

I imagine that the ball of water caused Rexy a bit of PTSD, that looked a lot like I imagine the meteor hitting that wiped out the dinosaurs.

I completely agree that we need to use the metric system.... now that I use 3D printing... I am amazed how awesome the metric system is.

The absolute awe of the gym ball of water impact, to the hilarity of what it did to the scoreboard, was some of the quickest mood-whiplash I've ever felt.

Great job. Still haven't stopped laughing.

They should have used a drag ribbon for a lot of these items... Properly positioned it would reduce velocity slightly, but improve the orientation and depth of entry.

The weight actually does affect the velocity. At that height, most objects will stop or nearly stop accelerating before they hit the ground, but objects with particularly high weight and low wind resistance (like Bruce, and the tungsten cube) were probably accelerating at almost uninhibited rates right up to the moment they hit the ground. That would give them a higher velocity on impact compared to, for example, the tire or the hollow giant axe, which are not very dense and have a large area when falling.
