The idea that sans could never teleport but just always stopped time, and even dragged you all the way to grillbys when you come with him, is absolutely hilarious to me

I did get into a debate about it once.
Papyrus does bring up Sans "PRANKING YOU ACROSS SPACE-TIME" or something like that, and while it is explicitly clear that he can teleport, the game goes out of its way to portray Sans dissapearing and reappearing somewhere else it two visually distinct ways.
It seems he's limited to setting up attacks during stopped time though.

he also has those “shortcuts” where he could easily be freezing time and just dragging you over there. and you only notice it when you start to gain LV, like when he “teleports” away right after the bridge before snowdin town in geno route

That would also explain his “shortcuts” it would be him leading the human in a random direction, freezing time, and then carrying the human to where they need to go

I'm too lazy to edit it and change it around I just woke up and I'm still tired. So here's a copy-paste of what I commented on another video about sans teleporting.

I believe that sans stops time and moves to give the illusion of teleporting, rather than being able to teleport. I have information that proves he does this aswell.

When sans "teleports", there's this one sound that plays, along with the screen turning black. We can even see this in the battle with sans in the genocide run. The screen turns black and he "teleports" objects to attack the player's soul.

Where else do wr see this? Where's my proof? In the pacifist run, sans and the player go to grillby's for food and to talk. And in the moment sans talks to the player about *flowers*, he *stops time*.

The room goes dark, nobody is moving, there's a spotlight on sans and the player. And what do we hear when he does this? The exact same sound we hear when he *stops time*. (Allegedly "teleporting".)

Here's a question. When sans gives the player a warning about hurting his brother, he walks off and "teleports". Why do that when he can just "teleport" without having to walk away? He doesn't. He *stops time* and keeps walking away.

"Why don't we hear the sound then in other parts of the game?" My theory is that we can only hear that time stopping sound when *sans is on the screen*. He walks the wrong direction and stops time to head to the right direction. And in that one part in the game where you go back and forth and he's there, you have a moment where he isn't on screen to stop time and move.

Edit: What I meant is that he prepares an attack that can instantly kill you. For example when you mercy him he just kills you.🤷🏻

New headcannon: Sans can't teleport, instead he freezes time and walks to where he wants to "teleport" to, then probably takes a nap afterwards
