Randall Made Knife Guard Shortening. Model 28.

Randall Made Knives Guards are too long. Especially on a knife that is called the Woodsman. The large guard really is an obstruction to being able to use this knife for more stuff. Break out the Grinders and Buffers.

The tang on my 28 jumped out of the handle. I have used 14 and 15s without. Randall sent me a new one, then I sold it since it was factory new. The hidden tang models actually have a thicker tang albeit not as wide as the full tang models but its not far behind. I was using the 28 pretty lightly for a few days then I noticed the issue. I'm not that impressed with Randall's cutting quality, nor the steel. When I got into Randall's in the early 2000's super steels didn't really exist. For the price Randall really needs to make a few new models keeping the lineage alive but still changing with the times.
