why we do not take cases when secant line and tangent line coincide or delta =0

But why do we need to know the slope of the seacant line at point P, wouldnt the point that the tangent line is on already give us that point? Or is it because to find slope you need to have 2 points?

I did not get one point:
If we already know the slope of the tangent at point P=RISE/RUN, then what was the need of introduction of limit here?
point Q is infinitely close to P, then it is obvious that slope at point Q is almost same as slope at P.
