The final bit "But she can't love you, Like you love her, There's no mercy, From Mother Earth." means that, while we often see Nature as beautiful, it's also ugly - it's live-giving, but also cruel, merciless and death. There's 2 sides to Nature and "ungrateful souls" do not see "the forces for what they truly are", they do not see Nature for what it is, or might even think they can dominate it. Having divided ourselves from Nature, we tend to do that, we only want the good things. Nature can't and won't give us that. This is true within the self also. It's only when we recognize the bad things in our lifes, like sorrow or grief, that we can truly *know* the good things like happiness. Essentially, trying to reject the bad is profoundly wrong. On the other hand, you have people who are infinitely too focused on the negative, they find it alluring and makes them feel something, like self-harm for example (and illustrated by the man seeking to go back to the sea). It's only when you walk the border of both aspects, when you recognize that they are both essential, that you find balance and peace. My interpretation.

The ocean has been the lifeline of coastal Norway for as long as people have lived here. It provides, but at the same time it has demanded at high price in human lives. I personally believe the song should be viewed in light of this.

If there were a soundtrack for the intricate wonder and beauty of nature, Kalandra and Aurora would own the rights. This was a sensory overload for me.

WOW, at last. I've been waiting for someone to ake a reaction to my favorite Kalandra song. Thanks, Rosalie for your interpretation of the lyrics. I think we're on the same page there.

Thanks for reacting to Kalandra. Totally underrated band. One of my favourites 🤘🏻🖤. Katrine's voice is otherworldly, for me, she rivals Aurora!🤘🏻🖤 from Germany

Kalandra's song/video for The Waiting Game has an amazing visual message about the toxic cycles we can find ourselves in when in an unhealthy relationship. You should definitely check that one out sometime.
Thanks for another amazing reaction/chat. You're the best. ✌🏼

I spent alot of my life on the waters in a boat fishing. I felt the call of the sea in that song. It is a rare thing.

I already subscribed to Kalandra Music. They are my latest addiction.
I took the line about praying to get home literally, imagining the thousands of sailors over the centuries caught in the storms on the sea, praying just to survive and reach land.
If you like this, check out Eurielle "City of the Dead", Eivor "Remember me", and Myrkur "Leaves of Yggdrasil" or "Tor i Helheim"

I can't wait to see where your channel goes. I hope it goes where I see it going...interviews with the artists and discussing the lyrics and concepts.
