Great video this is my exact problem. How do you regain distance after shortening the swing?

this also explains a propensity to shank. It happened to me with my 7 iron at the range Sunday. I was trying to get a bit of a yardage increase and I was cupping my wrist purposefully at the top to extend the arc of my downswing. It took me about ten balls to realize my error. THIS alone is my irons straight 90% of the time and driver is straight 20%.

I slice my driver by pushing my hips laterally toward the target, instead of turning them left and ending up facing the target. That leaves the club face behind and open. This motion is from a long time playing a powerful forehand in tennis. Do you have any drill that could fix that?
