I think part of the problem is that people were rolling up with unevolved starters and expecting a free ride.

Daxi: did you know that you can save 800 max particals if you quit the gigantamax before its health reaches zero..

Was down to my last 800 max particals and didn't wanna do anymore Gigantamax battles. So I'd jump in the battles with lobbies around 20-25 and help them battle enough and then quit the max battle. This way they get the help to push them to get their encounter, while I saved my 800 max particals. Did about 5 gigantamax battles just battling and then quitting right at the end.

Felt good helping out trainers that were struggling to beat them. Felt like this tidbit of info might be helpful for FTP that didn't want a 5th gigantamax venusaur. And was waiting for a G.Charizard or G.Blastoise to populate

Max guard actually makes the boss target you so max guard is really useful too, you want to use max guard if someone is full on hp because otherwise it's a wasted 1/4 of a max spirit while max guard actually makes a difference

200 coins for double rewards is such a waste. I honestly think if they did 50 they would have A LOT more people buy it.

I liked the difficulty of G-Max but like you said that they didn't do a slow build-up so people didnt have enough time to catch and power up D-Max mons. And the MP limits should have been raised if they were going to release 3 pokemon at once. It just felt rushed.

well there is no shown timer on these GMAX battles but if the battle takes longer than exactly 5 minutes, the GMAX 'mon will become 'desperate' and oneshot everything no matter what (shields don't work against it). So if you can't defeat the GMAX boss under 5min, leave and try again.

Also, apparently the person that uses shields will be the only target within that group when the GMAX boss attacks, so having someone put 3 shields up during the first max-phases could also be a good idea. Once all their shields are gone, put up 3 shields again (prefferably MAX shields and maybe someone else) and go back into attack mode.

According to Trainer Tips, using Max Guard makes the boss target you, so its even more important than the heal. They have attacks that hit just one pokemon and attacks that hit the whole party and the tank can agroo the single target ones by using max guard. If that is the case, could be good having a dedicated healer on top of the dedicated tanker, because the tank will probably just spam shields. And if you are an attacker in a team that has a tank and a healer DONT DO THE SWITCH STRATEGY, because your damaged pokemon has to be the one dinamaxing to be healed and you will not be receiving single target attacks so use the atacker to fill the meter faster.

Step 1: Have an army of friends that are dedicated Pokemon fans that have as much free time as you.
Step 2: Defeat G-Max raids
Step 3: Wake up, you're dreaming.

I don’t mind the daily cap on max particles from power spots, but there should NOT be a limit to max particles from walking 2km. If I want to grind and walk 10k some day to save up particles to max out my max moves or to be able to do 2 gmax raids in one day without paying money, I should be allowed to do so. Especially considering its 2km for 300 particles which should then ENCOURAGE getting out more. Smh Niantic

Great video. Thanks for putting it together. However, there us one major obstacle to these that can be almost unpredictable with a large group: PEOPLE
Are they out there?
Do they know about the meet up?
Do they have the circumstances to show up?
Will they show up?
Are they a high enough trainer level?
Do they have the right counters?
Are their counters powered up with max moves?
Can they afford the candy, XL candy and dust to power them up?
Are they connected to social media to even know this stuff?

One comment that you read, daxi, was someone said there were kids there with bad pokemon. Thats a factor that should be included. Families that play together is the community and connectedness that Niantic is after with this feature. Theyre throwing out the baby with the bathwater.

From what I’ve heard if it’s correct… ‘max guard’ also draws the attention of the boss towards you making it attack you more and less on your group until the shield 🛡️ is gone, this might could be useful on when using mons that tanks such as Greedent, as with the extra HP you’ll gain with shield 🛡️ + its normal typing would make it resist ghost fast & charge attacks allowing it stay on field longer and taking most of hits allowing other players Pokémon lasts longer before being taken down.

Max guard isn't useless, it draws the attacks to you instead of those in your four person team and you get to take up to 60 power worth of hits from the G-Max.

Alot of people are level 40 or above, but i doubt even they have all that candy and xl candy to fully power up, niantic made it hard and expensive, we would need more community days that guarantee xl candy to power up the pokemon, and at the same time hunt for a good stats Pokemon or trade to get lucky, too many steps not guaranteed, makes me want to return to the switch, less chance, already paid for and niantic aint spying on me

Should have just put these damn things in 5 star raids. The majority hated elite raids. What did niantic do? Double downed until people started quitting. Tried to get rid of remote raids. People still hate it. Now this stupid greedy system that is basically a much harder elite raid that you cant even use the pokemon you already powered up. Im going free to play. I dont want to team up with people in person. Most of us dont. The fact that they are forcing it is a blatant middle finger to what we the consumer want.

I found the largest meetup in my area for the weekend, we had about 80 people traveling around together so we constantly had groups of 40. With that many players all the gigantamax raids were cake, even with no prep. Highly recommend making the trip out to a big meetup if you're struggling. My only complaint was how much MP* I had to buy to keep up.

Watching this video is the second time this week I've considered quitting. I have social anxiety and just can't with large groups. I also have young kids, work, home responsibilities. And local groups are only doing these in areas that are an hour away from where I live and at times I can't go. They're not doing the local ones in the park across the street from me. I can't drive two hours round trip for just one of these, cause I'm not spending real money on this feature. I'm gonna continue but the G-MAX feature isn't getting any play from me. Unless it becomes a doable with a team of 4 prepared and maxed out like the original teaser implied. I don't remember seeing large groups in the teaser. I love the speed of the Dynamax raids. I'll still do those when in line places.

having a popup when you click on a gmax raid the first time that says “hey! this is a strategy heavy feature and communication between trainers in highly recommended if not necessary.” would be SO helpful both with expectations and getting people to go to meetups

This battles ARE timed. After some time the pokemon will "start to become desperate" and OHKO everybody, essentially ending the battle. This takes time, but be aware that you have to do damage as well, not just survive.

The most effective way I've found to defeat Gengar is by organizing the group strategically. Make sure the strongest trainers stick together, with their Pokémon having max gard and max attack. Group the weaker trainers separately. Since their Pokémon are likely to faint first, they can contribute by cheering and helping fill the Dynamax meter faster. This support allows the stronger trainers to stay in the battle longer, deal more damage, and take less damage overall

Yeah I think it was just too soon, people need to get ready and find people and maybe book time off work to do them.
