America marks 22 years since 9/11 attacks

The Bell of Hope rang out at St. Paul's Chapel in New York on Monday (September 11) morning, to mark the moment at 0846 local time (1246 GMT) when the first of two planes hit the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

Rev. Phillip Jackson, the rector from nearby Trinity Church Wall Street led the prayer service and remembrance on the 22nd anniversary of the attack.

The Bell of Hope has rung on every anniversary since 2002, when it was presented to New York City by London to honor the nearly 3,000 people who died in the attacks.

Amidst the tragedy and pain, there was this really moving scene. Several days after the attacks; the responders and construction workers who were removing and clearing the rubble; they were doing it with such a regard and consideration for the potential undiscovered victims. Even the people who were operating the big and heavy excavator were using such caution and sensitivity. These workers are beyond amazing. I got some filmmaking/acting experience and I swear, they deserve a tribute, especially since many of them suffered and died of cancer and other related illnesses.
