'I was accused of kidnapping my adopted son' - BBC World Service

Adopting a child can be a challenging experience but imagine being accused of kidnapping your new baby.

That is what happened to Keia, an African-American woman and her husband when they adopted a white child. In fact the couple, who live in the US, are constantly challenged by members of the public, suspicious about their three-year-old son.

Been following her for a couple of years, she’s a lovely person and an amazing mum. It’s sad she has to go through this. Boosie is a very lucky and happy little boy to have found himself part of such a loving and supportive family. May they stay blessed always. ❤

Hi, I understand you completely, I am from Dominican Republic, my natural birth son is Japanese Dominican for his father is Japanese, I have been asked if Im his babysitter, if he was adopted, I have been cuss at, I have been called race trader and lots more, in a restaurant a lady literally called the cops on me because she was absolutely sure that I had kidnapped my son and that I could never give birth to a child that looks 100% asian.
I'll pray for them 🙏.
