What do you mean they can not speak English? It is just they’re shy to speak in another tongue and conscious of their grammar but they do understand and can write in English. Philippines would not be a call center capital of the world if it were not for their proficiency in English. I think it is your African accent that confused them. I’ve watched many bloggers coming from Africa especially students studying here I must admit that I have difficulty in understanding their words. Their pronunciation and accent is far from what we used to hear from American and British speakers.
