No mmo have yet to capture the combat system of dragon nest yet for me since 2010. From super armors to counters, evasion and recovery unique to classes and the aerial combat which actually has gravity to it so you can't just attack nonstop in the air forever. Looks like they still maintain that and the iconic splash fx of the skills. I'll be following this games development closely because DN still holds a special place for me.

I hope it finds its identity and not have to be compared to Genshin and Tower of Fantasy as those two had really big head starts

Dragon Nest is my first and beloved mmo game, can't wait for that new game to actually be the better version of Dragon Nest and not just for a couple of years but for sustainable decade or even more!

Not gonna lie I will miss the original classes concepts of sorcerers, archer, cleric, mechanic, Kali and etc, bcs those character, even tho being sex locked, they had their own vibe and feeling and you was actually experiencing every class very much differently and unique. I hope project D will have same feature to it, not just bland classes with no casting incantations

And if it really be an open world with exploration - damn, I will live in this game!
Fuck all those world of warcraft games with boring ass combats lmao

i swear, dragon nest combat mechanics was the smoothest and most fun combat mechanics for me, nothing could compare to it. up until now, i would always set other games' controls key to the control keys of dn cuz it's what i'm most comfortable with 😭 ex: shift key for dash/evade

I do prefer instance maps over open world only due to how limiting open world can be for multiple players as well as players with "weaker" pc/mobile phones. The combat look so far... I'm also a bit concerned because Dragon Nest have so much weight in its combat while this one feels light. Hope I'm wrong since the animations look really good and want one spritiual successor of a beloved classic mmo game to succeed.

Combat looks like some of the animations were ported directly from DN, yet upgraded a lot, and classes looks just the same.
This fives me chills, im in love

Dragon Nest was the best MMO for be back then, with the abilities, synchronization/combination of skills and its dynamics made it unique. Hoping as well that I could experience that nostalgic effect and the thrill soon when I play this game. Best of Luck for Dragon Sword!!!

Things that made Dragon Nest magical for me:
- PVP - the pvp system was off the hook, the many game modes and diferent terrains you had to master
- Huge party boss fights - the major dungeons to farm materials for equipments required knowledge about room mechanics and party coordination, it required planning and understanding of each skills and characters
- gorgeous dungeon designs - there were some dungeons that made me go wow and stop and stare
- community based mechanics - there were some mechanics that required community interaction like getting a Rock of Blessing and selling buffs in front of dungeon gates for 50 gold haha

If this manages to replicate that, I'll be down.

DN is unique because of dodging mechanics, timing, raid run worth 30mins+ and alot of things . i hope this newly DN adopt this kind of feature.

I'm an absolute DN fans, and even now I still played the PC version. It was like 5 months ago but still the soul is still lit. Basically because the combat is the most advanced for 2010 technology, perhaps even now.

I can guarantee no games has combat like Dragon Nest which is very complex and intriguing.

And witnessing this Dragon Sword made by Eyedentity, My eyes literally can see that this is Dragon nest 2 in production.

Just looked at the combo, mid air fighting style, character skill and skill effect. It was all Dragon Nest accent.

I will definitely wait and play once it launched officially.

A YouTuber named Mtashed just said that this game's sounds and assets are a copy of Genshin. I really just went facepalm at this dumbass. I am sure the sounds are from the goblins of dragon nest and not from hilichurls cause we know Dragon Nest came first before Mihoyo started making Genshin. He also stated that the goblin's base is the same as the hilichurls when in fact, it is the original design of the goblin towers of DN.

I do notice that ideas from ToF like the underwater exploration were added but I know it was just to expand the world of Dragon Nest. As a former DN player myself, I always thought how an open world DN would look like and this news brought a smile on my face. I just hate the people who downgrades this project cause it's "Genshin Copy". At the very least, we don't tell this game as a 'Genshin Killer' for we (DN players) know this was a project to satisfy us who wanted an open world Dragon Nest.

I just hate the fact that this is how upgraded games of old will be received by the "kids" who play Genshin just because it's open world and have anime-like aesthetics. Worst, some Youtubers propagate this news without an ounce of research and just tell their thousands or millions of followers that that is this and this is that from the little information they have. I hope this game will last for a very long time just to show these idiots that NOT ALL open-world games are a GENSHIN COPY.

as a former Dragonest player from Beta 2010 and played up to 2015, this brings back so much memories. im an Acrobat/Windwalker as my main and yes, i do love PVP in Dragon Nest and even mastering the iFrames alone gives me joy. looking at the trailer though, the combat is pretty similar to Dragon Nest but i do hope they add the combos, iFrames, cancels and such for another insane PVP gameplays.

DN's combat style is more heavy and fast, while Project D is heavy but slow. I do hope that they bring back Moonlord, Gladiator and Dark Avenger's skills since I grew up with them.
The thing that worries me is my pc specs. I hope that Project D isn't that big to install and my pc can handle it.

Dragon Nest still has the best combat system, it's still very nice to play even in 2023
Please don't try to be or compete with Genshin, the new DN has to be different.

Gotta say, this piqued my interest but hearing one word at 3:38 completely broke it for me

The way that i saw this thumbnail and gasped so hard☹️🥹
Ngl the one aspect that made me attracted to dragon nest in the first place was the class specialization and free skill configuration, it made my character feel special to me, bc i can adjust my own combos even tho the combo isnt meta nor effective, but its MY combo so it feels personal, if this new game doesnt offer those stuff its still a “genshin copy” in a way. Because classes are good and all but class specialization are just superior in all way.
