Reading his Wikipedia page, this was an extraordinarily accomplished man who was highly educated; I mean, he had a Ph.D. in Economics! He taught at the University of California, San Diego, and the University of San Diego and was a highly esteemed professor. The Dude wrote books and was highly sought out for his knowledge, skills, and abilities in economics and trade. He considered himself a progressive democrat and supported the Clintons. This Dude could have retired as a wealthy and respected man... But Everything Trump Touches Dies. Once he got into Trump's orbit, his reputation, legacy, finances, and now his freedom are gone.
Why people of this level of accomplishment throw everything they worked for away for Trump is beyond me.

This was a massively unsurprising verdict. Pity it took so long, and that the appeals process will drag this out some more. The lawyers obviously know he's guilty as sin or they wouldn't be planning the appeal before the verdict.
