Billy Crudup really did a good job portraying Dr Manhattan, especially how he balanced the characters nihilism and detachment with enough emotion to show he’s still human and make you feel for him. It’s really amazing

I love it how important he takes into hearing what others have to say. He focuses 100% on someone when he talks and he listens to him. Instead of interrupting like most of people who choose to be talkers instead of listeners. I love how even him, looses it at 1:10 and then stops himself. Such amazing self control.

Dr Manhatten: It wasn't a request.

Many dont realise something about DrManhattan. Imagine youre playing a game, but its a game youve played countless of times before, so you know location, every combination of characters and perks, and all the items to collect. No matter how more hardcore or different you try to play it this time round, no matter what kind of freedom the game gives you, you'll still end up at an ending you already know on a path youve already been through, you do not have to be hyped and worried about the next wall because you already know what boss level will pop up behind it. Hence, there is literally no point for you to try harder/differently because the ending is always the same. Play MLG, or glide through aimlessly, you will still reach the same ending. So why bother? At best, you will be genuinely surprised briefly by small trinkets that you find lying around.

Props to Billy Crudup in this scene. He perfectly portrayed the stoic, detached Dr. Manhattan who slowly had emotions, long unfamiliar to him, burst up to the surface. Him saying "Janey, I wasn't told..." is kinda heartbreaking to me.
