Plants For Fall Gardening

Before making fall plant arrangements I thought it would be a good idea to highlight some plant options for use in fall containers and fall gardening. People have asked for some plant ideas that are different from the typical, Kales, Cabbages, Pansies and Mums. I tried to include as many plants as I could think of and had on hand at the time but I only had so many available. I also tried to include a mix of plants for cool weather and some for more mild and warm climates. I did my best to highlight why these are my favorite plants and give some brief care and character details.
I will roughly list everything below.

I love the tropical hibiscus and the hardy ones also. If I can get my hydrangeas to bloom I think I will really like them also. I have have good luck this year for the first time with supertunia petunias and really like them also.

Hi Jeff, I'm in a zone 5, and I can't water my perennials in the winter cause they are covered, or buried in snow, lol!, but as long as it's a hardy plant they come back every year, which is so exciting because every year they come back they are bigger and more beautiful. Oh I love coreopsis, so pretty. I have one Hibiscus plant, it's gorgeous. I also have a purple cone flower, they are pretty hardy and mine comes back every year. I love a good daisy, they are so pretty, and it's great that they come back every year. I also have a lily, it's pretty hardy, comes back every year. Coleus is gorgeous, there are so many different colors, they are only annuals where I live. There are so many options, I just have to remember where I live and what will survive. Thanks for this video Jeff, fun video, It's always soothing for me to watch your videos, have a great week, bye for now.

Hi Jeff! Those are some pretty choices for fall containers. I don't usually plant fall containers, but will occasionally pick up some fall plants to replace flowers in pots that are struggling. I've been lucky with quite a few perennials coming back each year that I've planted in pots. It definitely saves on $$$ in the Spring! I'm trying some Lamium and lemon coral sedum this year and hope they make it through the Winter. I have some Lantana, too, but don't think they will make it. I hope they aways, fun spending with you! Thank you for sharing! I'm anxious to see your Fall planters later on.

Hi Jeff! I'm a newbie in the "gardening" YouTube community and I absolutely love your channel. I live here in South Florida and since we both seem to have the same gardening love for the tropicals, I'm always compelled to watch what exciting things your growing. It's especially fascinating for me to watch you grow things in your zone 6. Keep growing those beautiful Crotons, they are one of my favorites. 🌴🌺😁
