One year ago, in a cold basement of Astrid Hospital, Anne Cameron Cain frantically searched for news of her husband. Along with dozens of other families, the Cains were not prepared for the tragic events of that day, which took the lives of both Anne’s husband Alexander Pinczowski and her sister-in-law Sascha Pinczowski.
Today marks the one-year anniversary of the Brussels Attacks, in which 35 people died and over 300 others were injured. The families of those affected by this tragedy have met many hardships along the way, with all kinds of costs, insurance battles, and emotional turmoil continuing to plague their everyday lives.
Anne’s father James Cain, the former US ambassador to Denmark, speaks out about the lack of support provided to the victims by the Belgian government.
