“Becoming a Dad Calms You Dow….” #how

When a man becomes a father, his testosterone levels often drop, which scientists believe is nature’s way of helping him adapt to the demands of parenthood. Testosterone is associated with traits like competitiveness and risk-taking, while lower levels are linked to more nurturing and caregiving behaviors. This hormonal shift is thought to encourage fathers to focus on bonding, caregiving, and creating a stable environment for their child, rather than on competing for resources or seeking new partners.

Studies have shown that men with lower testosterone levels after becoming fathers tend to spend more time with their children and are more attuned to their needs. This drop in testosterone can be temporary or sustained, depending on how involved a father is in daily caregiving. It’s a fascinating example of how biology supports social bonds, as the hormonal change helps fathers connect with their children and adapt to their new role.

Absolutely unforgivably reckless, no safety equipment on dad or daughter. And one sharp turn on the handles instantly sends both crashing to the ground. Stupid.

Anger-inducing clip aside, I appreciate you pointing out that dads undergo brain changes when they have a kid too. Many aren't even aware about things like that

I have a young married male coworker who recently had a baby. Before the baby he was always so happy and carefree. After the baby he looked so tired and stressed, hes such a good guy it made me feel sad. He was the emotional support for his wife, and the baby who he said cried alot. The baby is now 6 months old and things seem to be getting better. My coworker is coming back around to his old self which Im really glad to see. Im saying all this to say I never realized the mental and emotional things that men can go through when becoming a father - especially for the first time. That means they care, and that sometimes they need support as well.

But only for dads that are actually present and parenting their children, correct?

A child that age shouldn't be anywhere near a motorcycle. IMO you should have to wait until you fit into adult size protective clothing. Too many children die in completely preventable accidents.

Whenever I see footage like this. I like to imagine them being questioned by hospital staff later. It really helps put your decisions in a new perspective.

Is there any research on adoptive parents' brains? I'd be interested to see if it's psychologically based through behavioural experience or something triggered by the pregnant partner's pheromones or something

If this was my partner, I would go for a breakup and try for full custody due to child endangerment. What an idiot!
