"Who's responsible for cleaning?.
"I'm responsible. I didn't do it."

He just separated himself from most other owners on this show. Just owned it instantly.

“Go take a break”
“I can’t, I’m too lazy as it is”

This is a surprising amount of self reflection and self determination and character development

To those wondering, The Capri stayed open until 2019, when they closed due to health reasons. They kept Gordon's menu, started serving lunch and fresh produce, and business was up more than 20% for the coming years. Gordon revisited the restaurant in a special episode and loved their pizza. They also won a prize for the best pizza in Eagle Rock. The twins posted on Facebook to thank their customers and staff. The episode aired in 2011 and the twins are appreciative of Gordon's help.

When Jim said "I'm a failure", Gordon's face dropped into shock and genuine concern

These guys are so wholesome and this version of Gordon is better than his Hell's Kitchen persona, fight me

People keep saying Gordon is actually 70 percent therapist 30 percent chef but they are all wrong he is actually just a therapist who can cook

Say what you want about the twins but their restaurant is the last restaurant in Kitchen Nightmares that got closed at 2019 and their restaurant stayed for 8 years since this episode was aired. Also, they closed it because of their health condition not because of debts. So, I'm gonna say that this is one of the restaurants that got "happy ending"

I feel bad for that poor old woman she seems so sweet and genuine

I loved these two.
Probably the most genuine owners to be on this show. They admitted fault, didn’t make excuses, knew they were lazy and took shortcuts, were appreciative of the advice and help, and were overall ecstatic to be given a new chance to turn a new leaf.

I still can't believe he managed to get through the entire episode without calling them Tweedle-Dum and Tweedle-Dee

Love how quickly Gordon realized that these guys are not like any other stubborn owners he usually encounters, just bunch lazy kids lol he gave them so much confidence that they were lacking. These guys have a pure soul, I wish them all the success.

Arguably the darkest episode of Kitchen Nightmares. The things that owner says to himself are absolutely devastating.

The two oldest 6 year olds you will ever meet. Gordon had to make them cry.

Breaks my heart to see someone whose fear of failing is the thing that stops them trying. Breaks my heart because I'm the same. So many wasted opportunities.

The restaurant closed down in 2019, because owner's health issue, they have a video as the restaurant close down for the last time. They kept the same standard that gordon display since 2011 to 2019. It has been a good run.

Gordon: "Tonight can be summed up in a 4-letter word..."
Me: "Shi-"
Gordon: "Lazy."
Me: "L-lazy, yeah..."

Seeing Jim having a breakdown while cleaning up and muttering to himself like that is heartbreaking. I've been in that headspace before and it feels bad.

Gordon's treating them differently because he knows they are quite different than other egoistic owners and chefs. He probably knows that they just don't believe on themselves and underestimate themselves quite badly.

Gordon ramsay isn't just a chef
He's a therapist, a man who can make people feel better by confronting them with their mistakes
And that is a quality our society needs

I love how in the end, Jeff was crying and shouting "We have homemade meatballs" while raising his arms and you could see the burns he sustained while working hard. Good chap!
