4 Car Mods You Should NEVER Ask Advice For!

4 Car Mods Car Guys give TERRIBLE Advice for! It's okay to still ask for advice, the title is that way because I mean c'mon you know how this website works. Non-car people also give terrible advice too. Yep. Uh-huh, y'know what it is. C.O.D. C.O.D. Sorry, I'm watching the latest Vanoss video as I make this one, and that's what he was saying. Or I guess I was actually watching Brian's video and Vanoss' voice was just in the background.
Calls you a poor, despite being on Affirmed financed wheels n bags. That is wheel elitism in a nutshell.
Look I support Real Wheels and all, but if someone ain’t got the money to get them right away, WHY YOU GOTTA RUSH THEM OFF THEIR OEMS???? Asking for Suspension Modding Advice doesn't go well either. Remember when Stanced Cars used to think they were rebellious and moving against the norm? Yeah well, I now see like 75% Stance Cars whenever I go to a Car Show, so I'm starting to think the "Rebellious Trend" has started to become "The Status Quo". Nice one. Try to be unique, but end up being all the same again. Can we go back to making Drag, Track, Drift, Dirt, and Daily Builds again? Sorry, I don't want to be an undrivable mess with no ground clearance.
Also I don't have an issue with JDM Cars, just that they were the easiest to pick on, since they're usually the loudest community in the U.S. Car Community since liking Japanese things don't remind them of the Evil American things their parents grew up liking and it's rebellious to go against your parents. Yeah, I ain't holding back in the description here. I'm Asian, and actually visited multiple parts of Japan and honestly it creeps me out when White people over-worship it like a land of magic. Like bro, Japanese stuff is cool, I ain't gonna lie, but y'all need to chill about hating on American and European Stuff. I'm sorry "Westerners" remind you too much of your parents for you to want to associate with them during your rebellious phase, but why some MF's gotta fetishize my culture.

Also obligatory: haha Bike Community good. Car Community Whack.

I will say. People go a little crazy over transmission’s…

Edit: I will never understand and I don’t hate manual transmissions or automatics (cvt transmissions on the other hand… I hate them…) but I’m not gonna stop people!

Honestly OEM wheels are a good option and a good style upgrade if you're moving up a trim package or generation. For example fitting a base model challenger RT with SRT rims

My experiences in the car community have made it so I actually flinch every time I hear the word "bro" because it's so often been immediately followed by a detailed description of the destruction of a wonderful car. I used to have an FC, and when I was talking about selling it to one of my coworkers, he said he wants to LS swap it and slam it. The original owner managed to get this NA 13B to almost double the stock horsepower and you want to just throw that in the trash to make it identical to 95% of the RX-7s out there? I like the LS, it's an amazing engine with massive potential, but rotaries are rare, and well built rotaries are even rarer

I’ve had people try to convince me to convert my 66 Thunderbird to a manual and ask why I didn’t get one with a manual… It was only ever available with an automatic, so there is no “looking for one with a manual, ” and a manual conversion would require butchering the perfectly good interior. I’ve also had people try to convince me to cut the roof off and make it a convertible… Moral of the story, people who tell you what to do with your own car are frequently idiots who know nothing about your car 😂

Seems that it comes down to "different cars have different requirements" and "let people mod to their preference"

I'm a delivery guy in europe. I drive around all day in a manual van, always stuck in traffic I'd kill for an automatic.
But my fun weekend miata is a manual and I love going trough the gears myself, wouldn't want an auto for that.
And my brother has an f-type and the flappy paddles make me feel like a real racing driver. Different options for different uses and people

I actually like the idea of rep wheels because if you’re going to be beating on your car and racing it or drifting it why would you want to scuff up nice pretty little wheels

i feel the most missed part about car enthusiasm is that you or me are in it for what we like, i enjoy manuals, i get manuals, you enjoy cvt, you get cvt, as long as things are being done properly with no danger it is fine, enjoy your hobbies safely! Respect peoples choices but keep safety in mind is mostly my philosophy when it comes to any hobby

My first mods were small efficiency mods like underdrive pulleys & gearing. Before going wheels & suspension. Started with sway bars & rear billet control arms.

I believe it is common in America for cars to be automatic but in the UK Manuel is normal

When it comes to transmission type, i usually throw this question back:
How would you want to use that car, and how do you like to drive?
If you prefer confort, chill cruising, and you take long distances: Automatic
If you have somewhat sporty driving style, and like feeling of connection with the mechanism, and also you need to take usually short/mid distances: Manual
Unortunately i have no experience with CVT shifters, but pretty sure that has a something similar perk. Anyway it really depends on the way you want to use your car, and what experience are you looking for in driving. This is not rocket science tho, and i don't understand how can be people so based about this.

The truck community is so annoying when it comes to wheel cuz the really ugly wide wheels that are like 26’s and rubberbands for tire will say “oH YoU mUsT bE BrOkE yOu DoNt HaVE WiDEs U RuN a BuBbA” and a Bubba is normally stock rims with bigger tire

Omg I could not agree more on the transmission one, the only “elitism” I give for driving stick is to my friends cuz they can’t borrow by car, not cuz it’s better but cuz they don’t wanna learn

this is so true, i have a 92 mercedes 190e and basically the reaction of my classmate's (many of them are car guys) was that I defenitely need coilovers and get rid of my 15" wheels. But tbh i like how comfortable my high suspension is and i love my wheels, especially since the fitment is good as they're from the bigger w124 e-class. On the thing with transmissions: as a european with a 4 speed manual, i got to say it's just so much more fun. I like to think of it this way: A fast car will always be fun, no mather the transmission, but with a manual everything can be fun. The biggest reason i switched from my first car, which was a cvt, was when i got a small van as a dealership lend while my car had some work done. That van was a total pos and slow as hell, but man was it fun compared to my auto i was used to at the time.

Got me wheezing man, that's good stuff! The most important thing about being a car enthusiast is that YOU DRIVE WHAT'S RIGHT FOR YOU! As an engineer in the aftermarket and a grassroots racer, I spend 30-40 days on closed courses each year. I know very few people can immerse themselves in car things to this degree. So I enjoy sharing my inside experiences, perspectives, and helping people maximize their involvement with cars. People can take it and have fun with it, or leave it and go about their ways.

OEM wheels can go a long way, especially in european and specifically german cars. Theres nothing like amg 5 spokes or monoblocks in a benz, or like 1m 359m style wheels on an e90.

With the whole transmission thing I felt ashamed to look at a car that I’m really interested but realize it’s an auto because I was worried about what other people think I’m getting a 5th gen prelude on Saturday and while it doesn’t have a manual it’s in amazing shape and yeah I can always throw in a manual later this is my first sports car I’m getting and I’m excited
