Doctor Octopus Tribute

After last month's Goblin, let's continue August with Doctor Octopus! Personally at the beginning I was doubtful about his return in the new film, given the arc of redemption of him, but after the film I also really appreciated this redemption of him. This version of Octopus is not my favorite (for reasons of taste) but undoubtedly one of the most tragic and it shows the dualism between man and machine. Surely in the future I will bring Electro too, but I doubt that I will bring Lizard or Sandman since their presence in NWH is limited and it would be just a video that reproduces those already made at the time of their films. However at the moment let's focus on who we have as the next villain! Prepare to be Red of Anger!

What's so wonderful about Otto Octavius is that he is nothing like most villains. Most villains want to steal, want to get revenge, want to destroy, want to rule. Otto only wants to create. The real tragedy is that what he creates betrays him.

This might just be my favorite tribute for Doc Ock yet. I especially love how the editting during the chorus shows his more violent moments, not only to stay in tune with its beats, but also to show how the tentacles’ AI (hah) is in control before his more calmer moments during the next verse. It’s like the tribute is showing Otto and the apparatus fighting for control, similar to the Raimi film showing him as subserviant to the tentacles before eventually redeeming himself and the tables turning. Truly fantastic work and perfect song choice.

Great tribute to one of my favorite incarnations of Doc Ock, Arkham! I can understand why he’s not your favorite, but…I kinda grew up with Molina’s Ock. Can’t wait to see what comes next!

Gotta admit; This version of Ock traumatized me as a kid with his hospital scene XD So, saying that this creepy, but tragic, song works for him is an understatement. I really liked when you showed the contrasting aspects of his character, as it gave a really well rounded picture of him. And wow, that sound clip was PERFECTLY placed! You're really getting more and more impressive with them! Very impressed bro!
