A friend of mine cheated on his honeymoon while his wife slept at the hotel. The girl found him on social media and contacted his wife. The marriage lasted two weeks.

Everything is expensive now. Those boomers should stop comparing their generation to now.

The question is always, “Why aren't people getting married?” but never, “Why should we get married?”

The government needs more productivity and working hours from the wage slaves, but does not want to invest in creating a new generation of slaves.

After watching family and friends getting divorced and paying alimony, I would never get married. Dying single sounds like a goal rather than a cold reality..

What we seem to forget now is that marriage for basically hundreds, if not thousands of years, was just something people did for security, status, safety, and to procreate. It was very seldom about pure love and care.

I think now we're seeing that and trying to make a decision accordingly, coupled with the economic trouble we face and uncertainty in society.

Marriage expectations are out of this world. Now 36, divorced. I’m not putting myself through that again.

As a woman who has lived the married life & the single life, I prefer being single. These kids are seeing a lot of unhappily married people & they are choosing not to fall into the trap.

I’m 65. Never married, no children, & non religious. Happy, content. Independent financially. Love to travel, make friends easily. Healthy, not on any medications. I stay off social media, & get out in nature everyday. I don’t follow societal norms. I travel my own path in life. Life is really this simple. Enjoy yours.

Unfortunately our greedy government, corporate structures & morally bankrupt society has killed marriage.

It’s really difficult to buy a house 🏡 so how can people even think about marriage in such situation?
Kids are expensive to sustain: from kindergarten to university fees.
Both parents work and no one is there to care for them. Result: everyone is miserable in such families.
There is no place for romantiziation, it’s brutal reality

Colleague had a baby in her mid 20's. A year later and 20k worth of baby costs and income loss? She and her bf are now looking at the insane costs of childcare in horror. They still don't know if they will ever afford a house as the prices have skyrocketed in the past 8 years. Marriage would be an insane spending at this point! Family members are asking them "so, when is the second kid coming?" and they are completely incredulous at the absurdity of this assumption... "do we look like we have another 20k!???"
