WOW now i see just how accurate Steve Carell portrayed this guy. The mannerisms, the body language, even the movement of his mouth, the long pausing in between sentences. By far his best performance to date

I come from a large wrestling family in Illinois. And my dad actually got a letter from Dave Schultz, when he was in high school and Dave was coaching at Stanford, about him taking a recruitment trip out there. It was out of the question financially for my dad but crazy to think back on....

My father has been a head wrestling coach for over 30 years and the best wrestler to come out of our town went to Fox Catcher with my Uncle and trained for over 2 weeks! During that time my uncle met Kurt Angel

This documentary has haunted me all day since I saw it last night. Powerful tale of how wilful ignorance can have lethal consequences. Mental illness is real.

What a damn shame. I remember when this happened. I was finishing up my Junior year in high school. Later that year. Asics released the Dave Schultz Gold Medal tribute shoes. I ordered them from Eastbay and wore them for my Senior year. RIP Champ.

RIP Dave man. This makes me cry. As a man its the worst thing to get taken advantage of like this. I remember training with people and seeking out senseis who did not have my best interest at heart, and this just breaks me

I swam at Foxcatcher years before he added that wrestling building (converted his old gun shooting range). The swim team had Olympians too. I remember distinctly swimming along, and in the summer the coaches would open the sliding glass doors that ran almost the entire length of the 50-meter pool. Sometimes wild peacocks and turkeys would come in from the farm and walk on deck! That was 40+ years ago and I've swum in pools all over the world - have never been in one nicer than Foxcatcher and know I never will. John stood on deck and conversed w/the coaches at least once every couple of weeks and he was a nice, fine guy then. Always very pleasant and kind.

John DuPont reminded me of Mr. Burns from The Simpsons.

Loved the documentary. Unbelievable story, and I get goosebumps hearing Nancy's 911 after Dave got shot.

Woah, Steve Carrel killed that part. Amazing acting job.

"killed" might be a bad choice of words. . .

I swam at Foxcatcher before the wrestlers were present (wrestling area attached to the pool used to be the gun range and swimmers would go in and do sit-ups on the floor) and when wrestlers began appearing. Saw and spoke to John DuPont many times. Quiet man and nice enough when I was there. Greatest pool I've ever swum at (and, like many who swam there, I earned a full scholarship for swimming at a top NCAA Div. I university) so I've swum all over the world in MANY pools. I will always remember Foxcather (still have my original Foxcatcher sweatsuit and wind breaker in my attic). Very difficult to watch these clips but grateful for the pool shots.

0:25 When your sponsor/coach makes obvious long pauses like that, it's pretty clear he's probably a serial killer.

What a bizarre individual. Netflix has been on point with their documentaries this year.
Kudos

The fox catcher movie was pretty good too. Dave Schultz was played by Mark Ruffalo, his brother was played by Channing Tatum, and John DuPont was played by Steve Carell

Yes! This already looks better than the movie. I've always found documentaries much more interesting than biopics.

It’s eerie driving by the former du Pont property in Newtown Square, PA. You can almost feel it.

The movie is incredible and shocking. I didn't expect what was happening, even though I knew that John Dupont was disturbed, this TV show looks great

I can’t believe I’m barely hearing about this documentary. Can’t wait to watch this tonight.
