You've cured me! You actually already did in an older video, comparing strawberries in two paintings. But this video puts an explanation point on it. I wish I could find a still life I skipped useless Art classes to paint 47 yrs. ago. (I think I've mentioned this before). I tried so hard to paint the tiny dimples on an orange. I was, in essence, trying to teach myself. I eventually realized I was trying too hard. And I found myself eventually taking something closer to your approach. I WAS learning. If I only had you there!

Yet another great and insightful video! Thank you so much. It is true that a lot of us wrongfully fix colours as we paint. Perhaps also because so many artists and painting tutorials out there seem to show artists complete small sections of their paintings 100% before they move on. And so when their results look good, you think this is the right way to work. Maybe it is for some, but not for most I think.
