The birth of Athena is one of the most intriguing tales in Greek mythology. Zeus married Metis, the goddess of wisdom, but it was prophesied that she would bear a child who would be more powerful than Zeus. To prevent this, Zeus swallowed the pregnant Metis. However, Metis continued to nurture the child within Zeus, ultimately giving birth to Athena.

One day, Zeus was afflicted with a severe headache and, in agony, ordered Hephaestus (or another god) to split open his head with an axe. With a mighty roar, Athena sprang forth from Zeus's head, fully grown and clad in armor. She immediately symbolized wisdom and bravery, securing her place among the Olympian gods.
